How to Prepare for Your FOREVER LEGAL Academy Interview

BIG congratulations! If you have been invited to interview for the FOREVER LEGAL Academy, you have already distinguished yourself from a competitive pool of applicants. The interview process is an opportunity for us to learn more about you beyond your résumé, cover letter, and
application materials. More importantly, it is an opportunity for you to determine whether the Academy is the right fit for your goals, interests, and professional development.

Here is what prospective applicants should know before their interview.

Understanding the Interview Process

The FOREVER LEGAL Academy interview process is conducted virtually.

Depending on the position, applicant pool, and internship track, candidates may participate in one or more interview rounds with Attorney Tiara Seals and Executive Administrator Sabrina Donatto, who oversees the Academy and internship experience. In some instances, candidates may also participate in a preliminary screening conversation with a prior FOREVER LEGAL Academy cohort member before advancing to the formal interview stage.

Every interaction throughout the process matters. Professionalism, communication, preparedness, and responsiveness are all considered during the evaluation process.

Complete Your Materials Carefully

Before your interview, ensure that all required materials have been submitted and reviewed for accuracy.

This includes:

  • Résumé
  • Cover Letter
  • Any requested supplemental materials
  • Pre Screening Questionnaire

Applicants should carefully proofread all submissions before sending them. Spelling errors, formatting issues, incomplete responses, and lack of attention to detail can create concerns before the interview even begins.

Your application materials are often the first impression you make. Make them count.

Research the Firm

One of the most common interview mistakes is failing to research the organization beforehand.
Applicants should spend time learning about FOREVER LEGAL before their interview.

Good places to start include:

We are a unique law firm and brand. Understanding the firm’s mission, values, practice areas, and culture demonstrates initiative and genuine interest. You do not need to memorize every detail. However, you should be able to explain why the Academy specifically interests you and how it aligns with your goals.

Arrive Early and Dress Professionally

Although interviews are conducted virtually, applicants should approach them with the same level of professionalism expected in an in-person setting.

  • We recommend logging in at least five to ten minutes early.
  • Test your internet connection, camera, microphone, and interview environment beforehand.
  • Applicants should also wear professional business attire.
  • A virtual interview is still an interview.
  • Professionalism matters.

Be Prepared to Talk About Yourself

Many applicants spend so much time researching the firm that they forget to prepare for questions about themselves.

Expect to discuss:

  • Your academic background
  • Career goals
  • Professional interests
  • Why you applied
  • Why you are interested in your selected track (legal track, brand track, or a hybrid)
  • What you hope to gain from the Academy
  • Previous leadership experiences
  • Strengths and areas for growth

We are not looking for perfect answers. We are looking for thoughtful, self-aware candidates who can communicate clearly and professionally…while show casing their unique personality.

Know What Makes You Different

Every semester, we meet talented students and applicants with impressive résumés. What often separates candidates is their ability to communicate what makes them unique.

Ask yourself:

  • What experiences have shaped you?
  • What perspectives do you bring?
  • What skills or interests distinguish you from other applicants?
  • What motivates you?

The Academy values authenticity. We want to understand who you are, not who you think we want you to be.

Be Ready to Discuss Feedback

The Academy is designed to challenge participants and encourage growth. As a result, applicants should expect questions related to feedback, accountability, and professional development.

Be prepared to discuss:

  • How you handle constructive criticism
  • A time you received difficult feedback
  • How you respond to challenges
  • How you manage deadlines and competing priorities

Growth requires humility.

The strongest candidates are often those who demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

Interviews are conversations, not interrogations. Applicants should arrive with thoughtful questions about the program, internship experience, professional development opportunities, and expectations. Strong questions demonstrate preparation, curiosity, and engagement. Remember
that you are evaluating the Academy just as much as we are evaluating you.

Let Your Personality Shine

One of the most common misconceptions about professional interviews is that personality should be hidden. At FOREVER LEGAL, we disagree.

  • We value professionalism, excellence, and accountability. We also value authenticity.
  • We want to see your personality.
  • We want to understand how you communicate, collaborate, and engage with others.

The most successful Academy participants are often those who are comfortable being themselves while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Always Send a Thank You Email

One of the simplest ways to distinguish yourself after an interview is by sending a thoughtful thank you email. A brief message thanking the interviewers for their time demonstrates professionalism, gratitude, and strong communication skills. This small gesture is often overlooked by applicants, but it can leave a lasting positive impression.

Final Thoughts

Preparing for a FOREVER LEGAL Academy interview is about more than answering questions correctly. It is about demonstrating professionalism, preparation, curiosity, accountability, and authenticity. We are not looking for perfect candidates. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, willing to grow, and prepared to contribute. The opportunities are limited. The expectations are high. The impact can last FOREVER. If you believe you are ready for the challenge, we look forward to meeting you.

How to Apply

If you have read this far and still believe the FOREVER LEGAL Academy is the right fit for you, we encourage you to apply.
Prospective applicants must submit:

  • A current résumé
  • A cover letter explaining their interest in the Academy and how the program aligns with their academic and professional goals

Application materials should be emailed to: info@discoverforeverlegal.com

Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a formal Zoom interview. Depending on the applicant pool and position sought, the interview process may consist of one or more rounds with Attorney Tiara Seals and/or Executive Administrator Sabrina Donatto, who oversees the Academy’s operations and internship experience.

Because the Academy maintains intentionally small cohorts, admission is competitive. Typically, only a select number of interns are chosen each semester, allowing participants to receive individualized mentorship, meaningful assignments, and direct access to professionals within their area of interest.

Before submitting your application, ask yourself:

  • Are you willing to manage deadlines?
  • Are you willing to receive feedback?
  • Are you willing to be challenged?
  • Are you willing to show up consistently, even when the work becomes demanding?

If the answer is yes, we encourage you to apply.

The FOREVER LEGAL Academy is not designed for everyone. It is designed for those who are serious about growth. The opportunities are limited. The expectations are high. The impact can last FOREVER. If you believe you have what it takes, submit your application and show us why you belong in the next Academy cohort.
