The FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy was never intended to be an ordinary internship program. It was designed for individuals who understand that success is built through preparation, accountability, professionalism, and a willingness to be challenged. Each semester, Academy participants are entrusted with meaningful work, exposed to the realities of the legal profession, and encouraged to develop the habits that separate professionals from spectators. Designed for ambitious pre-law students, recent graduates, and aspiring law school applicants, the Academy serves as a professional readiness program that bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. Of course, we could tell you what makes the Academy different. Instead, we asked the people who experienced it firsthand. To help future applicants better understand the program, we asked our interns a series of questions about their experience, including what they learned, what challenged them, what surprised them, and what advice they would give to those considering the Academy in the future. The responses that follow provide an honest look into the expectations, opportunities, growth, and realities of the FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy through the voices of the interns themselves.

INSIDE THE ACADEMY: NISHI’S PERSPECTIVE.
Tell me something you learned in the program that you did not expect.
During my time in the program, I was exposed to a variety of legal fields, which was something I did not expect to experience in such depth. This opportunity allowed me to learn directly from attorneys themselves, gaining insight into their specific areas of practice and how each field operates in real-world settings. What made this experience especially valuable was being able to hear firsthand about their day-to-day responsibilities, career paths, and challenges. It helped me understand the legal profession in a much broader and more practical way than I anticipated, while also allowing me to ask questions and gain clarity on topics I was genuinely curious about.
What is one skill you developed that you will carry forward?
Attorney Tiara’s words, “Being on time is late. Being early is being on time,” and the importance of self-care will always be with me.
How has this program changed the way you think about law or business?
Before this program, my perception of the intersection between law and business was quite different; it appeared more relaxed, with an emphasis on enjoyment and delegation. However, after gaining insight into Attorney Tiara’s day-to-day responsibilities, I now understand the level of hard work, discipline, and dedication required to successfully build and sustain a thriving business.
What pushed you outside of your comfort zone the most?
The primary factor that pushed me out of my comfort zone was how consistently engaging and thoughtfully designed the assignments were how they sparked a genuine passion that motivated me to fully commit to the work. My own drive, along with the support of my co-interns and the encouragement from Attorney Tiara and the team, kept me motivated and thriving through to my final assignment.
Describe a moment where you had to step up or take initiative.
During discussions for an upcoming project, we identified the need for a specific tool that was not available on anyone’s computer. I took the initiative to introduce both my teammates and the attorney to a technology that not only supported us throughout the project but also proved valuable for my peers in future assignments within the Academy and beyond.
What was something you struggled with at first but improved on?
As a freshman with no prior exposure to real-world professional environments before joining the Academy, I initially struggled with formal communication, particularly in professional email writing. Attorney Tiara guided me by offering practical tips and thoughtfully highlighting areas for improvement. Her mentorship helped me develop a sharper attention to detail in my communication and significantly strengthened my professional writing skills.
What was your favorite experience and why?
My favorite experience was meeting Attorney Tiara in person alongside my co-interns on several occasions. Being part of the very first Academy cohort made those moments especially meaningful, filling me with both joy and inspiration. Each interaction with Attorney Tiara was positive, encouraging, and truly memorable, an experience I will carry with me moving forward. The Academy also introduced me to an incredible group of co-interns, for whom I am deeply grateful. They are supportive, collaborative, and inspiring in their own unique ways. Sharing this journey with them through FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy has been both rewarding and exciting. I sincerely hope that each of us continues to achieve great success in our individual paths.
How has this program prepared you for your future career?
This program has prepared me for law school and my future career by breaking down the steps that shape successful, real-world attorneys and providing insight into what their professional lives look like from different perspectives. It offered honest and practical exposure to the day-to-day challenges that attorneys face, many of which are not often discussed. This experience not only increased my awareness but also equipped me with the mindset and preparedness to face the challenges ahead.
What makes FOREVER LEGAL Academy different from other programs?
With FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy, each intern becomes a part of the FOREVER LEGAL family from the very first day and continues to remain connected beyond the program. Interns are supported, guided, and taught with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring they receive not only knowledge but also a deeply personalized and meaningful learning experience. This is what sets FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy apart, making it not just different but truly exclusive among other programs.
What should future applicants know before entering the program?
Before entering the program, future applicants should know that they will never be judged. They will be consistently guided, supported, and encouraged, especially during moments of uncertainty or when they need help. This support comes not only from the attorneys and their team, but also from fellow interns who grow alongside you. Together, you will celebrate achievements and learn from challenges as a team. To truly benefit from the experience, you must give it your all and strive to make both yourself and your team proud.
What kind of person thrives in this program?
The kind of person who thrives in this program is someone who is not afraid of new challenges and is open to learning to their fullest potential. This program has a great deal to offer, and it takes a dedicated FOREVER LEGAL intern to fully embrace these opportunities and thrive both within the Academy and in their future endeavors.

You should not apply to FOREVER LEGAL Internship Academy if… You cannot handle deadlines and punctuality! “Being on time is being late and being early is being on time.” Before this program, I thought , and I will thrive like our Attorney Tiara!
The biggest lesson I learned was that being punctual and honest is important no matter what.
This program pushed me to my limits and showed me how it’s done!
I will never forget my co-interns and team that helped me thrive at the academy.
